Newell Brands Employees Ace Another APS Back to School Bash

Newell Brands prepared students for their return to school at the Atlanta Public Schools’ (APS) Back-to-School Bash. Just days before the first day of school in Atlanta, the Back-to-School Bash helped students get ready for school and provided the supplies and resources to make it happen.

This year, Newell contributed over 67,000 products including Graco, Rubbermaid, Sharpie, Paper Mate, Elmer’s, DYMO, Expo and Prismacolor. Over 100 Newell volunteers organized and managed activities and educational community resources featuring our products. The rest of the products filled the 5,000 backpacks donated to over 10,000 students and family members attending the event.

Activities at the Newell booth included writing cards for teachers, creating slime, participating in a word association game featuring Rubbermaid products and learning more about car safety with Graco. More than 2,000 batches of Elmer’s slime were made at the event, and 100 families drove away safer with a Graco car seat.
